IZUMI FUJIWARA
Born in Yamaguchi, Japan in 1975.
She lives between Milan and Tokyo.
From 1997 she writes poems and she takes part to poetry reading in Tokyo, collaborating with international renown poets. She publishes some poetry booklets and poetry reading CDs, stretch from her work, including “Travelling word” and “Achille's heel boiled”.
In 1999 she graduates in Graphic design at the University of Arts of Tama in Tokyo, presenting a thesis in creative photomontage.
From 1999 to 2001 she works as a photographer assistant for “Shiseido” industrial studios.
From 2001 to 2003 she lives travelling by bicycle across Japan creating photographical reports and working as an assistant of a seaweed and salmon fisherman and as a farmer in a vegetable and sugarcane farm.
In 2003 she arrives in Italy and starts painting and drawing.
In 2004 exhibition at “Palazzo Granaio” in Milan.
In 2005 exhibition at “Studio Stringrafy” in Tokyo
From 2004 she collaborates with the association “Save the children” as an illustrator.
From 2004 she proposes to the children of Milan workshops of wall paint, drawing, scene-design and creative stimulation.
From 2005 she collaborates with the intercultural association “Donne in cammino” in Milan, as a painter and as an animator of poetry and painting workshops for teenagers and creative workshops for children.
From 2006 she has been working with the children theatrical company “Pane e Mate” as a scene-designer and as a painter.
Between 2006 and 2007 she takes part to the first, the second and the third edition of “Bear in mind” a customization project of neutral toys.
In 2007, she paints an illustrated book, for "L'Atalante" theater company taken from the show “Ouverture des saponettes".
In 2007, she takes part to the exhibition "Bears dreams to eat pears" in Stabio, Switzerland.
In 2008 February, exhibition at "Libreria RIZZOLI GALLERIA" in Milan.
In 2008 April, exhibition at "Centro Asteria - Oriente sui Navigli-" in Milan.
In 2008 November, exhibition at " sushirestaurant ZEN" in Milan.
